The sixth issue of the newspaper self publication is the first one in color!
Lately I was really interested by the old communist countries, especially for their social modernism architecture. So when I had the opportunity to go to Cuba, I couldn’t resist about the idea of doing a Newspaper about La Havane, the city of Ernest Hemingway.
In January 2020 I spent 4 days there and for the first time I shot everything only in color. I wanted to show the emptiness, the abundance of life, the wear of time
in the houses, buildings, streets, places and the constant warm light of the sun.
All the shots have benne made with a Minolta CLE ( Minolta Rokkor 40mm f2, Canon ltm 28mm f2.8 & Jupiter 9 85mm f2 ) on Kodak Gold and Lomography color Neg100.

Le projet de publication Sur les lieux / On Site de l’artiste Yann Pocreau a été conçu comme le troisième volet des expositions commissariées par Manon Tourigny présentées à EXPRESSION, Centre d’exposition de Saint-Hyacinthe du 7 novembre 2015 au 24 janvier 2016 et au MAC LAU du 21 mai au 20 août 2016.

Montréalais de naissance, Jean-Pierre Larocque pratique le dessin et la peinture, mais il est principalement reconnu comme l’un des sculpteurs-céramistes important en Amérique du Nord. Formé à Montréal et aux Etats-Unis il y a aussi été professeur dans diverses institutions tout en poursuivant une fructueuse carrière grâce à un style et une recherche très personnelle dans le traitement de l’argile et la réalisation originale d’œuvres en céramique. Sa technique novatrice repousse les frontières traditionnelles de cet art, révélant une toute nouvelle conception du travail de l’argile.
Son œuvre dessinée et peinte, Jean-Pierre Larocque la réalise principalement en série ce qui lui permet de décliner ses sujets analysés en profondeur.
Ses dessins au fusain apparaissent tels des négatifs de photos dont nous aimerions rendre visible l’image latente, comme des dessins oubliés dans une armoire, représentatifs d’un monde que l’artiste interroge.
Quel que soit son moyen d’expression, Jean- Pierre Larocque explore en permanence la condition humaine et nous livre le portrait d’une humanité en transhumance.
Montreal artist Jean-Pierre Larocque trained as a ceramist in the United States, where he has received significant recognition for his innovative work. The originality of his approach lies in his highly personal exploration of the material. The techniques he uses go beyond the traditional boundaries of the medium and bring new perspectives to ceramic art.
Larocque is also a draftsman and painter. His two-dimensional works, mainly produced in series, focus on subjects analyzed in depth. His black drawings are like photo negatives whose latent images we would want to make visible.
Through his unique art, Larocque, artist and wanderer in search of himself, offers us a portrait of a people in transhumance, in continual migration.
